Setting

How is the setting significant to crime dramas that you have seen? (e.g. Miami, London, Whitechapel.)
CSI Miami is set in Miami which is supposed to be glamouras and luxury. where Luther being set in the the estates in London, which is seen as gritty and dirty.

What does the setting connotate?
Miami connates glamour, wealth and stlye. but the the estates in london like, ladbrook grove, connotates violence, poverty, crime, anger and dissatisfaction.

What do we associate with the settings?
we associate beaches, holidays, spring break, paradise with miami. whereas we associate cancil estates with chavs, crime, gangs, and working class people.

What opportunities arise from using the setting?
The oppitunities that arise from the gritty setting in luther are gang violence, burglary and drungs. the oppitunities that arise from using the glamouras setting in CSI Miami are drug smuggling, murder, fraud.
